Hello Parents and Students!
I am so very excited to meet each of you and get this new year started! I know that we will have a wonderful year learning and growing together and I can’t wait to meet each of you at Meet the Teacher. It will be tomorrow, August 14th from 4:00 to 5:00. I hope to see all of you there!

We had a great time learning and having fun on our Planetarium Field Trip last week!
Camp Read-A-Lot!
Tomorrow, May 18th, we will be having Camp Read-A-Lot in our classroom. Students will be rotating through various camping themed reading and math stations. Students may bring a small pillow and blanket, stuffed animal and healthy snack if they would like. It will be an exciting day of learning and fun!
We will be leaving the school tomorrow at 8:30, and will arrive in Tyler around 9:30. Parents are welcome to meet us at Bergfeld Park at 11:45 for lunch. Please have your child bring a lunch and closable drink in a ziploc bag. Please have your child wear a White Oak shirt if possible.
It will be a great day!
The 2nd Grade Field Day is scheduled for Thursday from 12:30 to 2:30. Parents are welcome to attend and will need to park in the Intermediate parking lot. You may check your child out from the field. We are asking that they not go back into the building if they are being checked out due to dismissal. There is no need for your child to bring their backpack unless they have an important note.
Remember that they will need to wear old clothes and sunscreen! They do not need to bring a change of clothes as there will not be much time for them to change.
Our class has been learning about ways that they can “go green.” They each chose a topic that they wanted to teach others about, and then worked in groups to create a technology project teaching about that topic. They did a great job!
