Wednesday is “keep your head on straight” hat day.

Thursdsy is “peace & hugs instead of drugs.”  Wear tie dye & bring a small stuffed animal.

Friday we will wear costumes and “scare away drugs.”  Please make sure that your child’s costume still meets the dress code.  Also, please remember that props, weapons, blood, etc. Are not allowed.

There is no spelling test this week due to Halloween craziness.

Have a wonderful week!

Week 8

Week 8 is off to a great start!  Our spelling words for the next two weeks are:

New Words:  over, only, down, made, and did

Review Words:  first, there, than, my, its, could, and many

We will not take a spelling test on these words until October 23rd due to early release on Friday and benchmark testing this week.

Reminder!!  School will release early this Friday, October 16th.  Car pick-up will dismiss at 1:15 and busses will be loaded at 1:30.  This will help with traffic due to homecoming.

Go Roughnecks!

Week 7

We had a wonderful week!  We learned about the nonfiction genre in reading by researching and learning all about bats.  We also began learning to organize and write nonfiction stories.  In math we continued to practice counting mixed coins and add number strings.

Our book order should be here by the beginning of next week.  Thank you for ordering!  With our classroom Scholastic points I was able to order 18 new Halloween chapter books for everyone to enjoy!

Have a wonderful weekend!
