We need your help! Limeades for Learning starts today. We have a class project posted for two Chrome books for our classroom. You can help by voting each day with your email, and also collecting stickers from Sonic to vote with. All you have to do is go to www.limeadesforlearning.com, click on Find a Project, type in White Oak, Texas, look for and select our class and click Vote Now. The classes with the most votes each week in October will have their projects funded.
Thank you for your help!
We have been recording information about what conditions cause fruit to ripen more quickly. We used 5 avocados and placed them in various places with other fruits. We learned that when fruits ripen, they give off ethelyne gas that causes fruits and vegetables around them to ripen more quickly.
After our avocados ripened, we used them to make guacamole. We graphed our opinions. Most of us liked it….a few did not.
Next week we will begin growing & observing our avocado pits.
This school year is off to a great start! We have had a wonderful first two days of school. I am enjoying getting to know everyone and seeing them become more comfortable in their new class. There was a permission slip sent home in your child’s binder today. This will give me permission to include pictures/video of them on our class blog.
We had a couple of friends bring their All About Me bags to class today. We all had a great time learning about them, and can’t wait to learn more about everyone else also.
Thank you for sharing your sweet children with me this year!
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! I am so very thrilled to begin this school year. I can’t wait to meet all of my new students and families at Meet the Teacher Thursday evening from 4:00 to 5:00. Please come, bring your child’s supplies, and help them get ready to start this school year. We are going to have an amazing year!
School will release at 11:00 on Thursday and Friday this week.
