We have been observing the mold growth on 3 pieces of bread for the past two weeks.  We conducted an experiment to see if hand washing helps to kill germs.  We all handled one piece of bread with dirty hands, one with clean hands, and we also observed a piece that wasn’t handled at all.  We discovered that the piece of bread that we handled with dirty hands had several different types of mold growing very quickly.  The piece that was handled with “clean” hands also had mold growth quickly.  The bread that wasn’t touched had very little mold growth. 

We learned that we really do have germs on our hands, and also that we need to do a better job of washing them.
